Day # 106 Teachers workshop
So today their was no school for the kids but we had a work shop on CFS (child friendly schools) I don't know if you all knew this about Grenada and I think most of the caribbean but they are working on getting corporal punishment out of the schools. So are workshop was about using positive reinforcement to get the kids to behave better in schools, and how we can punish the students without corporal punishment. The teachers put together a group at my school so help teachers some up with new ways to work with the students and stop students bad behaviors before they happen. At my school we have the kids stand in a corner or write lines of what they did wrong. I have not seen any corporal punishment at my school, and yes it is the same in special education schools. It was a good workshop and all of the teachers at my school are willing to work with the CFS. After the workshop I went over to the community youth center with my friend and talked to the woman who runs a program for youth that has been in trouble. She works with them on life skills, jobs, and keeping them out of trouble and on the right track. I am interested in working with her and her program so I am thinking of asking if I can do something with them, she needs help because she has 12 boys and no other staff besides herself. I was a good day. When I got home I tried to make loafs of bred they turned out much better. Nothing much exiting happened after that.
